Happy Birthday!

The Esoterics have been celebrating Elliott Carter’s 100th birthday recently.  There are concerts on Capital Hill and West Seattle this weekend.  If you can’t go, but still want to experience Carter’s music, the following videos are worth a look.

And, part of the composer’s Oboe Concerto conducted by David Robertson (who guest conducts the Seattle Symphony in the Spring).  Maybe Seattle audiences will get a chance sometime to hear the concerto performed by our very own Ben Hausmann.
